The Oaks. Was the site of a very magnificent house called The Oaks where temporary pavilion was erected for one party?  Castellated mansion for the Earl of Derby 1730.  Wedding £5,000 Adam pavilion.  Horse race called after the house.

Transferred from Metropolitan Asylums Board to London County Council. Large Hospital for Children

Iron Age camp has been excavated in the grounds. Some Bronze Age evidence
