Pleasant village

Low Place Farm. Last remains of the house of Lord Howard, Elizabeth’s admiral, from which the first Lord Howard (d. 1573), Lord High Admiral of England under Elizabeth I, took his title. His son, who also attained that rank, is famous as the leader of the navy that vanquished the Spanish Armada.  The Howards held the manor here in 1550-1647

Manorhouse Lane

Old cast-iron distribution cabinet, probably used for street lighting control. A larger cabinet stands on the west side of Manor House Lane, Little Bookham. This has a plate fixed to it indicating that it belonged to the L&HCJEA, Leatherhead. It was cast by Hardy Padmore of Worcester

Sub Station. Later modifications have been made to the original CEB 33kV system in the area to include sub-stations

River Crane - Isleworth

River Crane. The River Crane flows northwards and into the Thames. The Duke of Northumberland’s River flows eastwards and into the Thames This posting relates only to sites north of the river. South of the river is Richmond Old Deer Park Riverside Post to the south St. Margaret's Post to the west Mogden Post to the north Isleworth Byfield Road Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses . The hall was registered by them in 1942 Butler’s Almshouses . Built and endowed by Elizabeth Butler in 1885. Designed by G.H. Boundaries, for the Isleworth United Charities Trust in red brick. Inside the porch is a tablet with inscribed ‘ These alms houses were erected and endowed by Elizabeth Butler as a thank offering to God October 24th 1883’. Church Street Isleworth Manor Mill . This was behind Church Street and dated from, at least, the early middle ages. Isleworth Flour Mill was destroyed by fire in 1795. Clapham Old Town

London School Board School dating from around 1900 and seems originally to have been a secondary girls school. Later known as Clapham Secondary Central and in the 1970s as Parkside Secondary School. Cardboard box facto ry.  This lay between the school and the railway and fronted onto Bedford Road Belmont Close This is part of what was once Wirtemberg Street 17 Oddfellows Hall - Shambala Centre . The hall was built in 1852 as a Chapel for the Ebenezer Strict Baptists and was known as Garner Chapel. In 1863 it was sold to the Bible Christians.  In 1908 it was purchased by the Pride of Clapham Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, which still owns it and holds its meetings there.
