Bass Hill

Broxbournebury.  One and a half miles to the west of the village, the seat of Major Smith-Bosanquet, J.P., pleasantly situated near Bass Hill.  The mansion is a large building of red brick with stone facings in the Jacobean style and is situated in a well-timbered park of 330 acres.
