Christ Church, shingled spire on the Common, Tower from the Benjamin Ferry original building.  Spire 1881. Paid for by W.H.Smith. 1869-70 Built of flint and stone with a shingled spire of 1881-2 added to the tower. There is a reredos and a pulpit, both of stone, by the architect of the church, G.E.Street., and a lych-gate in a niche a statue with bronze fawns to an actor George Street 1870.
