It has a fitness suite, a four-court sports hall; two squash courts; a climbing wall; two exercise studios and a café. There is a competition swimming pool and a teaching pool. A landscaped park was designed by Gustafson Porter with an all-weather football pitch and a doctors’ surgery. The previous centre was built 1963-4 by Basil Spence and intended as the part of a new Civic Centre. It was built on the site of a previous congregational church. The UCL Academy .
