Chertsey Road

Fairoaks Aerodrome. Second World War private airfield.  Airship advertising. This is a pleasant airfield with grass runways, and the aircraft take off and land right over the path, sometimes only feet away. There is a proposal to have concrete runways.

The Bourne

Also called Windle Brook and Hale Bourne. It partly defines the area in which Woking lies. 

Twichen

A small manor recorded in 956, made up of two farms. The name means the ‘meeting of two ways’ and relates to the junction of tracks on the heath.
