Kidston Institute. Founded by Mrs Janet Maitland Bruce Kidston in memory of her husband in 1903. A plaque says it was once used as a branch of the Hertfordshire County library service.. It was meant as a 'social meeting place for men' and its endowment £1000 must revert to the Church if it fails. In the 1970s it nurtured table tennis players of national standard.

The Vineyard – this is the name of a wood on the Nyn Park estate. It is said that grapes were once grown here.
Vineyard Bridge – bridge over the Hempshill Brook
Northaw Church of England Primary School. This was built in 1851, as a National School.
