Bancroft Gardens
Laid out in 1969 on the site of St.Nicholas’ School which
itself was laid out on the site of a golf course.
Broomhill
Hamlet on high ground west of Orpington. Broom was used
for broom making. Also bonnets were made here. 1790s mentions of the area.

4-6 cottages demolished 1935 were the old Zion chapel
converted.
Chiselhurst Road
93 Cricketers pub. Well-respected community pub, a favourite with
locals, it has a good atmosphere. Overlooking Broomhill Common, it is a few
minutes' walk from the High Street. It has been run by the same family for many
years. Framed cigarette cards of cricketers and boxing champions are displayed.
This is very much a dog lovers' pub -dog biscuits are provided on request.
